Wetherell Ranch proudly supports 4H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) in promoting and teaching agriculture to the local youth. These groups use our heifers at both Dairy Shows and the Del Norte County Fair. The ranch also hosts the 4H Swine Club where meetings are held and members have the opportunity to develop their showmanship skills.
Richard Wetherell serves as the chairman of the Del Norte County Resource Conservation District. This non-profit organization helps the local agricultural community with environmental conservation projects ranging from soil and pasture sampling to large environmental restoration projects for elk or waterfowl habitats.
Between mid-February and mid-April, the ranch opens to the community for scheduled ranch tours. We believe in the importance of understanding where food comes from and being able to experience it firsthand is a great way to achieve this.
